A light, fast, simple, and portable file manager for Windows. So honestly, it's not that big a deal.Try XYPlorer. I'm not going back and forth (using F7) from original downloads folder in (detail view) to the other filtered vi: tab. The key here is I'm cycling back and forth by toggling the vi: tab's "Toggle Visual Filter". I have zip files selected in the Preview as Thumbnail category since I have a codec that shows an image contained within the zip file. As I said it seems to be mostly exe files as well as some zips. It's still in a thumbnail view so I can visually see the thumbnails being drawn. With the tab's visual filter toggled off, as I mentioned some (less than before) of the non-images are being redrawn. So, with the tab's Visual filter toggled on, I get the proper image thumbnails. The tab that I'm actually set on is a new filtered tab with location vi: and a visual filter of This was an alternate way of cycling the filter as opposed to vi: discussed earlier. I'm working from a large folder with plenty of everything, exe files, images, and zip files because it's my downloads folder. Is it because the non *.jpg | *.gif | *.png files like exe and pdfs etc are not cached in any way so it has to be repeated? This does not happen when using vi. Obviously, it will do that for the first run as it should, but it does that every time. When I cycle the visual filter on and off, the thumbnails for all the non-jpg, non-gif and non-png files are rebuilt from scratch when turning off the visual filter each and every time. Now click to turn "off" the Visual filter on the virtual tab thereby virtualizing the entire Downloads or Misc folder we were originally set on. View the tab with the Visual filter checked in the thumbnail view - building thumbs if not done already Save a new FVS for that Virtual tab in that thumbnail view include all the attributes for filtering etc. Select the new virtual tab if not already and set the new virtual tab in a thumbnail view. Set that virtual Tab's Visual filter: *.jpg | *.gif | *.png It's normal assigned FVS is simply list or details view. Go to a tab for an existing Misc or Downloads folder with many files including quite a few jpgs. Hi Don, still with the latest I see the same issue I mention above.
